Camera Survey Weekend 2015

I got all our camera's up and running for this year's survey on Thursday afternoon August 1st. Spent the rest of the weekend fixing the duck pond water control, shredding, filling feeders and clearing out a couple new hunting spots.

Somehow the pipe degraded and the water worked it's way around the back of the bulkhead back into the drain pipe.

Breakfast break

Creating our own concrete culvert and patch.

Additional bulkhead and clay backfill almost complete.

Beef ribs for dinner!

Shredding and checking on food plots. We really need a little rain to get through to the fall...

Cleared a path and a couple new hunting locations near a creek with lots of white oaks.

Summer Food Plots

With all the rain it's been impossible to get our food plots in. We got a break last weekend and I was at least able to shred and then broadcast seed on a few plots not under water or inaccessible. It was definitely too wet to disk so I'll just have to see how things turn out.

Shredding after dark Friday night.

We did some fishing Saturday evening and kept 15 for the grease.

You think they could have stopped a little further down the tracks? Luckily I only waited for 5 minutes.

After shredding the dove plot Friday I came back Saturday morning to find the creek full from rains upstream and not passable. Luckily the water came down a little by Sunday and I was able to wade across and spread seed and fix the fence.

Chandeleur Islands (Cat Island) 2015

Heading to Biloxi with a quick stop in Alexandria.

Joka's Wild - Home for 3 days

Due to weather we had to fish the marsh instead of the islands. After one day without any luck we came up with a game plan to head South to Cat Island and found some fish.

Cinco De Mayo at Cat Island!

The horse flies were thick. We stopped keeping track of confirmed kills...

Dan out fished Ian this year for the smallest fish caught.

Hanging on the back deck and moving locations.
