I stayed overnight and we did our best to kill some pigs. They have been moving onto his place and can really tear stuff up. I had a Ruger Ranch in .223 and Dave had his AR. I drove up on a 125lb boar after dropping Dave off at his stand about 8:30pm. It stopped long enough for me to get the gun out the truck window with one had and spotlight in the other. Fired once and was confident I hit the pig. I didn't find any sign of a hit where I thought the pig was when I shot so I went ahead and climbed in the treestand. A few minutes later I heard multiple shots from Dave. A sow and her piglets came out and he had a field day.
Dave drove past the stand where I hunted two days later and saw the boar I had shot. He had piled up in some tall thick grass 40 yards from where I shot him.
Highlight of the night was when I picked up Dave he tossed a live piglet at me in the truck. He had climbed down and caught two but one had escaped while he waited for me. We had some fun with it at his brother in law Steve's expense!
